James Tario is an associate with The Lanier Law Firm's intellectual property group in Palo Alto, California. He joined The Lanier Law Firm in 2010 after litigating high stakes intellectual property matters at a prestigious national law firm for two years.
Mr. Tario has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in over a dozen patent infringement matters, involving software and hardware, pharmaceuticals, and electronic, opto-electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
Beforepracticing law, Mr. Tario worked for several years as a research chemist in leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies, where his work was patented and published in scientific journals.
Mr.Tario earned his law degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law, where he concentrated on intellectual property law. Before attending law school, he earned his B.S. in physics, and was named to the President's List and Phi Theta Kappa.
Mr.Tario is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the California State Courts, the Northern and Central District Courts in California, the District of Nebraska as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr.Tario lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife.
