Judson A. Waltman

Judson A. WaltmanJudson (Jud) Waltman is a native of Lufkin, Texas. He attended Baylor University where he earned his undergraduate degree in History and Spanish in 1993. He received his law degree and graduated, with honors, from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1996.

Jud joined The Lanier Law Firm in 2002 and limits his practice almost exclusively to the representation of individuals who are victims of negligence. He handles cases involving commercial truck collisions, product liability, medical malpractice as well as a focus on workplace injuries and oil field accidents.

He has tried numerous cases to verdict including receiving one of the largest verdicts in the history of Ward County, for an injured oilfield worker. He produced one of the firm's largest injury settlements, on behalf of a family, against a major international carrier when one of their trucks ran a red light in northwest Harris County, causing critical injuries to one person and injuring other members of the family.

Jud was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1996. Soon after he was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Texas. He is further licensed to practice in New York State. Jud is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Litigation Section), The Christian Trial Lawyers Association, The Houston Northwest Bar Association and The Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

He lives in Houston with his wife Dwana and their two children, Jackson and Ellie. He is an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church where he serves on the Family Life Committee and teaches fourth grade Sunday school. He enjoys fishing and an occasional golf outing in his spare time.
