Mark D. Bratt joined The Lanier Law Firm’s Los Angeles office in 2011. A native of Vancouver, Washington, Mark earned his bachelor's degree from New York University in 2002, and his law degree from Pepperdine University 2006. In the years since graduating, he has dedicated his entire career to representing injured plaintiffs suffering from malignant mesothelioma, and asbestos related cancer. Mark has acted as a senior associate working on mesothelioma cases, and served as a trial attorney for clients exposed to asbestos in a variety of circumstances, including United States Navy veterans and shipyard workers, underground water and sewer pipe installers, maintenance workers in industrial power plants, longshoremen and marine dock clerks, smokers of asbestos filtered cigarettes, and persons working with asbestos building products and automotive parts.
Mark has gained a reputation as a zealous advocate and compassionate litigator, who works closely with his clients from case filing through verdict. Amongst other things, he specializes in defending his clients at deposition, obtaining valuable evidence from co-workers, uncovering and working up unique exposures to asbestos, cross-examining corporate witnesses, and preparing expert witnesses for trial. Mark has been the responsible attorney on dozens of multi-million dollar outcomes on behalf mesothelioma victims.
Mark has also mentored young attorneys on how to aggressively litigate mesothelioma cases. His expertise in the field has led him to be a much sought after presenter at numerous mesothelioma conferences on mesothelioma litigation. He recently spoke at the Harris Martin Associates and Paralegals Seminar in Los Angeles, California on the "Preparation of Joint Pre-Trial Documents". He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and the Consumer Attorneys of California.
Mark is licensed to practice in California. He lives in Los Angeles where he enjoys traveling, sporting events, live music, and is a self-described "foodie".
