Phillip N. Sanov is an associate with The Lanier Law Firm, working in all areas of civil litigation with a primary focus on the firm's commercial litigation cases involving bad faith insurance claims, intellectual property, and other commercial disputes.
Mr. Sanov was born and raised in Gladewater, Texas, and earned his undergraduate degree with high honors from Centenary College of Louisiana in 1987. Mr. Sanov graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1990. Prior to joining The Lanier Law Firm, Mr. Sanov was an associate at a major downtown firm and also tried many cases to verdict as a solo practitioner.
Mr. Sanov remains passionate about providing efficient and effective advocacy to insurance policyholders and claimants that have been wrongfully denied and/or underpaid for their loss. Mr. Sanov and his team have extensive experience representing policyholder clients focused on insurance law, including insurance claim presentation, business income loss claims, coverage disputes, bad faith failure to pay issues, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and first-party insurance litigation. Mr. Sanov also has substantial experience representing clients in personal injury, criminal defense and family law. Before joining The Lanier Law Firm, Mr. Sanov was co-founder and president of a litigation support technology company that focused on database document management and courtroom presentations.
Mr. Sanov is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association, and The Christian Trial Lawyers Association. Actively involved in leading Student Ministry at Faithbridge United Methodist Church, as well as being a continual coach and volunteer for youth sports leagues, he and his wife Janet live in Houston with their children Ally, Alec, Addy and Niko.
