Mr. Harris is a native of Fred, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University, where he received his undergraduate degree in 1995. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston and was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1999.  He maintains his collegiate ties as a member of the Texas A&M Association of Former Students, the 12^th Man Foundation and the Texas Aggie Bar Association.

Mr. Harris is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association and Houston Young Lawyers Association. Mr. Harris served as the Tyler County Bar Association President from 2000 to 2002. He also served on the Texas Bar Journal Editorial Board for one year. Mr. Harris initially practiced law for three years in East Texas where he had the opportunity to try several cases to verdict.
