As a seasoned trial lawyer, William H. "Bill" Barfield has always sought after the opportunity to try lawsuits to a jury. Over his career, he has first chaired numerous cases to a jury and has handled cases in virtually every corner of the country. Further, Bill has a vast amount of experience in products liability, toxic tort, personal injury litigation, transportation litigation, premises liability, oil field and refinery accidents, energy litigation, construction litigation, wrongful death and commercial litigation.

Bill has an established reputation with the bar, judiciary and clients for honesty, integrity and trial ability. During his career as a trial lawyer, he has had the distinct pleasure of assisting his clients in obtaining several hundred million dollars in settlements and/or awards.

Bill has historically managed a large docket of cases filed in at least the following states: Texas, Illinois, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Louisiana. He has always been responsible for all aspects of case development. Also, when filing a case outside of Texas he has always been responsible to work with local counsel to prepare each case for trial.

Bill began his education at Texas Tech University, in Lubbock where he received a BBA in Accounting and is working toward an Executive MBA with a concentration in Finance, Accounting and Management, both from the Rawls College of Business. Bill received his Juris Doctorate Degree from The South Texas College of Law. Bill also attended The University of Houston Law Center where he received Joint Masters of Law designations in Energy, Environment, Natural Resources Law and Intellectual Property and Information Law.

Bill is licensed to practice in all Texas courts, as well as United States District Courts in the Southern, Western, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas. Bill also is admitted to practice law in all Oklahoma and Pennsylvania courts.

Bill Barfield’s practice area experience is very diverse with expertise in Product Liability, Toxic Torts, Wrongful Death, Personal Injury, Transportation Liability, Premises Liability, Oil Field and Refinery Accidents, Construction Litigation, Negligence, Tortious Interference, Property Damage, Commercial Litigation, Employment Litigation, Breach of Contract, Fiduciary Duty, Insurance Coverage, as well as Patent, Trademark, Trade Secret and Copyright Infringement.

Bill is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association, American Association For Justice, American Bar Association, and The Houston Young Lawyers Association.

Bill earned a selection to the 2013 Texas Rising Stars list of the state's top up-and-coming attorneys based on his outstanding work with personal injury clients.

Bill resides in Houston with his wife and their two wonderful children. They attend Houston’s First Baptist Church and actively volunteer in the SBMSA sports association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
