Los Angeles Law Firm Opens

October 16, 2007 For Immediate Release

LOS ANGELES - The Lanier Law Firm is pleased to announce the opening of its Los Angeles office. Firm founder W. Mark Lanier will head the new office, with Julie Drenner joining the firm as an associate.

"Though we have successfully represented West Coast clients out of our other offices, we felt the nationwide nature of our practice made it important to establish a permanent California presence," says Mr. Lanier. "With offices on both coasts, as well as our Houston headquarters, we are more capable than ever to serve clients anywhere in the country."

The law firm's Los Angeles office will concentrate on litigation in a variety of areas, including asbestos exposure, commercial litigation and intellectual property, pharmaceutical liability, maritime law and product liability.

Mark Lanier is widely recognized as one of the most talented trial lawyers in America. Recently recognized for the third time among The Best Lawyers in America, Lanier was also named Texas' Go-To personal injury attorney by Texas Lawyer newspaper in a statewide survey of his peers. In 2006, Mr. Lanier was featured in The National Law Journal as one of the nation's Top 10 Trial Attorneys and 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America. Mr. Lanier has achieved nearly $1 billion in verdicts and settlements in his legal career.

In 2005, The Lanier Law Firm opened its office in midtown Manhattan and quickly established itself among the East Coast's top litigation firms. Richard D. Meadow, who heads the New York office, is widely considered among the most respected attorneys in the state, and serves on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Earlier this year, The Lanier Law Firm obtained the first-ever VIOXX® consumer fraud findings against Merck. A New Jersey Superior Court ruling upheld earlier jury verdicts that found Merck committed consumer fraud by deceiving doctors about the drug's cardiovascular risks and deliberately hiding information about those risks. The firm also won the nation's first VIOXX® trial in 2005 when a jury in Angleton, Texas, returned a verdict of $253.5 million for the family of Robert Ernst, a marathon runner who died at the age of 59 after taking VIOXX® for less than a year.

The new law office is located at 2029 Century Park East, 14th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90067. The phone number is 800-723-3216.

With offices in Los Angeles, Houston and New York, The Lanier Law Firm is committed to addressing client concerns with effective and innovative solutions. The firm is composed of outstanding trial attorneys with decades of experience handling cases involving pharmaceutical liability, asbestos exposure, intellectual property, business litigation, product liability and toxic exposure and maritime law.
