Attorney Mark Lanier Earns 2008 Consumer Advocacy Award From The Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys

Mr. Lanier was honored with MATA's Consumer Advocacy Award during the group's annual meeting on March 15, 2008, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum in Boston.
In a recent write-up on the honor, MATA said, "Lanier defines the term 'consumer advocacy' in his practice, in his beliefs and in his commitment to all of his clients every day."
Mr. Lanier was honored in part because of his success representing individuals against major drug companies, including obtaining the nation's first VIOXX verdict. "His decision to represent people against a large drug corporation, at a time when many felt it was a serious risk for a law firm to assume, is nothing short of heroic," according to the recent MATA write-up.
"One of my primary goals as an attorney is to seek justice for individuals who may be going up against a corporation with seemingly unlimited resources," says Mr. Lanier. "I have tremendous respect for everyone at MATA and the work they do for Massachusetts' consumers, and I am honored to receive this recognition."
The MATA Consumer Advocacy Award is the latest in a string of honors for Mr. Lanier, who recently was recognized in the prestigious "Best Lawyers in America" listing. He also earned a spot as one of the Top 10 attorneys in the state in a survey published in Texas Monthly magazine, and he earned special distinction as Texas' top personal injury attorney in the Texas Lawyer's "Go-To Guide," published by the state's leading legal publication.
