The Lanier Law Firm filed these claims packages for all the firm's Vioxx clients on or before that date.
Although defendant Merck & Co. will start paying qualifying heart attack claims in August, most of those claims actually will be paid much later while claims administrators process more than 50,000 potential claims.
The claims administrators are not providing updates on when the claims will be processed, and The Lanier Law Firm unfortunately has no way of knowing when each individual package will be reviewed.
However, we do know that no claims will be paid until the claims administrators conduct their review and determine which claims are qualified for payment. The amount that will be paid on qualified claims will be calculated after the claims administrators determine how many claims are qualified overall. Again, we unfortunately are not being told when this will happen.
In an effort to keep our clients informed, The Lanier Law Firm will be personally contacting each of the firm's Vioxx clients once their claims are in line to be paid. By doing this, we hope to help individual clients avoid the time and expense of having to regularly contact the firm about their status of their case.
