JUUL Litigation

E-cigarette manufacturer JUUL has gotten away with recklessly exposing a generation of adolescents, pre-adolescents and young adults to its highly addictive e-cigarettes. The company is enriching itself on the backs of young users enticed by a slick, lifestyle-based marketing campaign and appealing tech-inspired design. Across the country, parents and authorities have been caught off guard by the insidious creep of these vaping devices into all corners of youth culture. Schools are struggling to monitor the pervasive use of these products in hallways and bathrooms.

On a family-by-family basis, initial concern by parents turns into outright alarm as they learn more about the addictive qualities of these products and witness firsthand the hold they have on users. And all the while, JUUL is generating obscene profits while leaving addiction and alarming medical consequences in its wake.

This problem is real. Documented health risks include:

  • Nicotine poisoning
  • Seizures
  • Strokes
  • Heart attacks
  • Heart problems
  • Lung/respiratory problems
  • Mental health/behavior problems
  • Suicide

There’s good reason to be alarmed by this trend and good reason to demand more from JUUL. After all, one JUUL pod delivers as much nicotine as 30-40 cigarettes. As a result, underage users quickly find themselves physically addicted to nicotine with a range of side effects from nicotine exposure, including potentially long-term health-related complications. Still unknown are the lasting damages created by high-dosage delivery of nicotine on still-developing brains. It’s time for JUUL to step up and take responsibility for damages caused by these products.
