Lanier Law Firm Named as Finalist for the 2018 Elite Trial Lawyers Awards

For the fourth time in the award’s five-year history, The Lanier Law Firm has been named as a finalist in the 2018 Elite Trial Lawyers awards given by ALM and The National Law Journal. The Lanier Law Firm is a finalist in three separate areas of this prestigious award: Mass Torts, Medical Devices, and Product Liability.

According to the legal news and information service, editors and reporters reviewed more than 300 submissions across 23 categories to arrive at a list of finalists that “have demonstrated exemplary performance in cutting-edge work on behalf of plaintiffs over the last 18 months.”

The winners will be announced at the Elite Trial Lawyers event on October 5, 2018, at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.

“Our national team reviewed a vast collection of firm submissions in order to arrive at this list of finalists and the competition among these leading plaintiffs’ firms was particularly fierce. We are elated to recognize these lawyers and law firms that are handling outstanding work on behalf of plaintiffs across the U.S.,” said Lisa Helem, Editor in Chief of The National Law Journal.

“This recognition is a tribute to the commitment and focus our firm has to holding corporate interests accountable,” says firm founder Mark Lanier. “Going up against some of the largest companies in the world, and winning, is extremely demanding but ultimately makes a tremendous difference in the lives or our clients and the public.”

Last month, Mr. Lanier secured one of the largest verdicts in plaintiffs’ personal injury history.  Mr. Lanier and his experienced trial team secured a nearly $4.7 billion verdict on behalf of 22 women who developed ovarian cancer as a result of longtime use of  asbestos-laced talcum powder made by Johnson & Johnson.

That verdict follows the firm’s success in three federal court jury verdicts totaling almost $2 billion against J&J and its Pinnacle division based on the claims of multiple plaintiffs who suffered serious medical complications caused by the company’s defective hip implant devices. These results cumulatively put Mr. Lanier close to $20 billion dollars in verdicts during his highly acclaimed career.

The Lanier Law Firm has offices in Houston, New York, Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. For close to 30 years, the firm has worked tirelessly to find unique solutions to its clients’ unique needs. The firm is composed of more than 60 skilled attorneys, practicing in a broad array of areas, including business fraud, asbestos exposure, entertainment law, and others. Visit
