The Lanier Law Firm’s Going After Google

Mark Lanier and the Business Litigation team of The Lanier Law Firm has been retained as trial counsel by the State of Texas in antitrust litigation against Google. The 130-page lawsuit, filed on December 16 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and joined by nine other state attorneys general, alleges the tech giant engages in anticompetitive practices in dominating the online display advertising market.

“This is a textbook example of an antitrust case. This is why the laws exist,” Mr. Lanier says in an interview with Texas Lawyer.  “Google is—in fact, several of the tech companies now—in my mind are equivalent to the oil barons who brought forth the antitrust laws.”

Attorneys with The Lanier Firm involved with the case include among others, Alex Brown and Zeke DeRose. The team also includes attorneys Ashley Keller and Warren Postman with Keller Lenkner in their respective Chicago and Washington, D.C. offices.
