HOUSTON - Once again Houston trial lawyer Mark Lanier, founder of The Lanier Law Firm, has earned a spot on the annual Texas Super Lawyers listing. Additionally, Mr. Lanier received special recognition as one of the state's Top 100 attorneys.
The 2008 listing of the state's top lawyers appears in the October issue of Texas Monthly and Texas Super Lawyers magazine.
This marks the sixth consecutive year for Mr. Lanier to be featured among the state's Top 100, having achieved that designation each year the Texas Super Lawyers magazine has been published. He also has previously been recognized in the magazine's listing of the state's Top 10 attorneys.
To compile the annual listing, Super Lawyers researchers solicited nominations from the more than 70,000 lawyers from across the state. This was followed by rigorous screening by a blue-ribbon panel of lawyers and confirmation handled by a group of Super Lawyers researchers.
The final Texas Super Lawyers list is made up of fewer than 5 percent of all Texas attorneys, and Mr. Lanier earned his spot among the Top 100 list based on his overall point score from the judging process.
The 2008 Super Lawyers recognition is the most recent honor for Mr. Lanier, who last year was profiled in Texas Lawyer newspaper's "Go-To Guide" as the state's top personal injury attorney. In both 1998 and 2006, he was named one of the nation's Top 10 Trial Attorneys by The National Law Journal, which also chose him as one of the 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America in 2006. He also was featured earlier this year in the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
