Zeke DeRose

Zeke DeRose is a member of The Lanier Law Firm’s Business Litigation group. He brings extensive experience to plaintiffs and defendants in a range of disputes, including intellectual property, federal securities, and other business and commercial litigation. Mr. DeRose represents both large and small clients.

His experience includes motion to dismiss and summary judgment briefing and hearings, managing large discovery cases, and formation of trial strategy. Mr. DeRose has significant experience with electronic discovery and federal privilege law.

Mr. DeRose began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Royal Furgeson of the Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division. He joined Vinson & Elkins’s Austin office as an associate in the complex commercial litigation section and worked closely with the Intellectual Property Section and with every U.S. office of Vinson & Elkins. While at Vinson & Elkins, Mr. DeRose also instituted and coordinated a pro bono program with the Texas Civil Rights Project, which resulted in thousands of hours of pro bono work and multiple awards for the firm and attorneys.

Mr. DeRose holds a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. Before attending law school, Mr. DeRose was a classroom teacher in Los Angeles and drove race cars. Mr. DeRose is on the Board of Counselors of the Texas Civil Rights Project and the Vice President of the Austin Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
