While Ozempic is the most well-known of these drugs, they are also marketed as Wegovy, Mounjaro, Victoza, Saxenda, and Rybelsus.

Recent research published in JAMA Ophthalmology found that patients treated with these drugs have a higher risk of NAION. The condition occurs due to loss of blood flow to the front of the optic nerve, leading to vision loss in one or both eyes that may be permanent.
