Determining a Mesothelioma Claim

When a person calls our office and tells us that they have mesothelioma, the first thing we always do is try to obtain a copy of the pathology report, for the purpose of determining whether or not there is in fact malignant mesothelioma, and once we get that, then we will immediately schedule a meeting with the client and go out and explore the client’s exposure history. That means we need to find out how the person was exposed because if there’s a malignant mesothelioma diagnosis, we know that’s the only thing that causes mesothelioma is asbestos exposure. So we meet with the client, try to identify asbestos exposure throughout the person’s life, and after that, at that point, we pretty much know if a person has a viable claim or not.
