The annual award recognizes an active Texas trial lawyer whose legal practice has demonstrated high ethical and moral standards and exceptional professional conduct. The award was established in 2002 by the Houston law firm Beck Redden LLP in memory of former firm partner and trial legend Ronald Sechrest.
The Lanier Law Firm, which maintains offices in Houston, New York and Los Angeles, is widely recognized as one the country’s top trial law firms. The firm’s record-setting verdicts and sizable settlements include cases involving dangerous prescription drugs, defective medical devices, toxic chemical and asbestos exposure, and a host of additional claims on behalf of injured victims.
“It is a true honor to be recognized by the Texas Bar Foundation with an award bearing the name of Mr. Sechrest, one of the true litigation pioneers in Texas and the entire country,” says Mr. Lanier. “Our firm is known for trying important cases before juries, and our goal is to continue to uphold the highest standards of the legal profession while seeking justice for our clients.”

Mr. Lanier will receive the award at the Texas Bar Foundation Annual Dinner on June 19 at the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio.
