Rick Meadow Named Levaquin Plaintiff’s Co-Liaison Counsel

Rick Meadow recently named Plaintiff’s Co-Liaison Counsel, before Judge Higbee, in the New Jersey State Mass Tort proceedings concerning the drug Levaquin.

Rick Meadow, Managing Attorney of the New York office of The Lanier Law Firm and a prominent player in the firm’s pharmaceutical litigation practice, has recently been named Plaintiff’s Co-Liaison Counsel, before Judge Higbee, in the New Jersey State Mass Tort proceedings concerning the drug Levaquin.

Mr. Meadow has served on numerous discovery, expert, legal, and/or administrative committees in several coordinated multi-district pharmaceutical litigations pending in federal courts throughout the country.

What is Levaquin?

Levaquin (levofloxacin) is a Fluoroquinolone Antimicrobial Drug prescribed as a skin, urinary tract, lung and sinus infection treatment.

Levaquin Black Box Warning

Levaquin was issued a Black Box Warning by the FDA on July 8, 2008 in order to keep patients informed of the increased risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture development. The FDA has stated that these side affects can occur during or after completion of the use of Levaquin. There have been numerous cases of this tendon rupture occurring several months after completion of taking the medication.
