Ryan Ellis Named a Rising Star in Texas Legal Awards

Ryan Ellis - Texas Legal Awards Rising Stars

Senior Attorney Ryan Ellis has been recognized among the state’s top young attorneys in the annual Texas Legal Awards, presented by Texas Lawyer and Law.com. Ryan is one of seven attorneys selected as a Rising Star in General Litigation, an honor recognizing emerging leaders in the legal profession.

A Senior Attorney with the firm, Ryan represents individuals, businesses and communities in high-stakes disputes in state and federal courts, as well as in private arbitration. His practice centers on complex litigation, where he regularly takes on well-resourced adversaries while pursuing meaningful results for the clients he serves.

Most recently, Ryan was a key member of the trial team representing more than 3,200 Los Angeles homeowners in an environmental class action involving allegations that volatile organic compounds, including known carcinogens, from nearby industrial operations contaminated their properties. After securing contested class certification and trying the case before a federal jury, the team reached a $75 million non-reversionary settlement during trial. The settlement is currently pending court approval.

Ryan is also representing a proposed class of thousands of homeowners in an ongoing environmental class action alleging that Union Pacific contaminated surrounding neighborhoods through its mishandling of toxic chemicals at an industrial site in Wichita, Kansas.
