States Fighting Defendants with Unlimited Budgets: We Level the Playing Field

Video transcript:

At the Lanier Law Firm, we represent a number of state attorneys general across the gamut against pharmaceutical companies, Medicaid fraud, holding pharmaceutical companies liable, holding tech giants liable for antitrust violations, deceptive trust violations, Medicaid fraud violations.

And the one thing that we have found is that it is extremely helpful to partner with an attorney general’s office, to let us be their, basically, outside counsel to go take on multibillion-dollar companies with unlimited budgets.

And we’ve done this in a number of states across the United States. We’ve done it in federal court and in state court. Currently set for trial in four different state AG cases in the next six months. And so those cases will either settle to the benefit of the state, or we’ll go try the case and get a great result for the state, and try to be the outside counsel, an additional resource, an additional arm of the attorney general’s office, so that they can continue to pursue the meaningful work that they do on a daily basis, but also not turn a blind eye to big corporations just because they’re big and they have billions of dollars and unlimited resources and are going to fight tooth and nail against everything.

So, it’s actually one of the, probably takes up about 80% of my docket, representing different state attorneys general, whether Republicans or Democrats. And it’s actually great to see them all aligned on pursuing causes and protecting citizens when someone’s wronging the state and returning money to the state.
