So, in the state litigation, which we have multiple states and the lead state is the state of Texas, we’re accusing Google of not being honest, but being dishonest to people that they sell advertisements to and that they sell advertisements for. Not telling them who’s seeing their ads, where they’re seeing their ads, how ads actually work.
And so it’s kind of that behind the vest or the, you know, Wizard of Oz, where Google’s behind it and they just say, “Trust us. We’ll do right by you.” And they don’t.
We represent dozens of states, and whenever a state wants to take on a big corporation, they often come to the Lanier Law Firm because we can put the team together that can actually hold corporations accountable.
The thing that’s great about that is, you know, attorneys general have the obligation and the right to protect their citizens, and they call on us to help them do that. And what we do is we know that these corporations, like Google or Meta or Roblox or General Motors or any of them, have unlimited budgets, and they’re going to throw as many lawyers as they need to at it to try to prevent ever having a day in court.
And so, one, we understand what those tricks are going to be. We know what their games are going to be. We’ve been through it, and we’ve pushed through to see them actually in trial. And we know that we just got to dig in and fight the fight. And we’ve got to start preparing our case, whether it ultimately settles or we actually go to trial, as if it’s going to go to trial. And that means making sure that we have enough people on the team and that, you know, we can keep up with their unlimited budgets, and we can hold hold them to their obligations and protect the interests of the states and the citizens.
And that’s one thing I think a lot of big multibillion-dollar corporations are hoping that plaintiffs don’t have, that states don’t have, is the resources and the know-how. With Mark Lanier, with the Lanier Law Firm, we do. And so we look forward to every opportunity we get to represent a state and actually help them push back on these multibillion-dollar corporations.
