How Long Does It Typically Take To Resolve a Railroad Accident Case?

How long it takes to resolve a railroad case is a difficult question to answer because each case is different. Of course, the facts of the case are going to be different, but there are a number of factors that will affect the amount of time that it takes. For example, where the case is filed. Some cases are, you know, some courts have dockets that move much more quickly. They do not have as many cases. Some courts have heavy dockets, which means the case will move more slowly. The complexity of the case, meaning the extent of the injuries, whether or not liability is hotly contested, all of those things will affect the amount of time that it takes. Of course, the number of parties involved also affects the amount of time that it takes. So you have to take all of those things into consideration for a case where, you know, liability is not going to be hotly contested, you have minor injuries, those are going to move, we hope to move those much more quickly. Of course, we try to move all of our cases as quickly as we possibly can, but we’re not always in control of those factors. But for those, we hope to move those like within 6 months, maybe to a year. The others you’re looking at, you know, a year or more again, depending on all of the factors that I just mentioned.
