Lanier Law Firm Represents The Family Of Chinese-American Soldier Driven To Suicide

The Lanier Law Firm currently represents the family of U.S. Army Private Danny Chen, who was a 19-year-old Chinese-American soldier who died from non-combat injuries after being deployed for only two months. He was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in a guard tower in Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Oct. 3, 2011.

Army investigators have found that Pvt. Chen was the target of racial slurs, physical hazing and excessive exercises that quickly turned into abuse. Eight of his superiors, including one Army officer, are facing court martial proceedings based on charges ranging from dereliction of duty, making false statements, assault, involuntary manslaughter, and negligent homicide.
