Railroad Accident Case Story: Recovery for a Deceased Worker’s Family

One example of my helping a family get justice for the death of their father and husband involved one of the most tragic, horrific collisions that I have been involved with, and it was where two locomotives collided head-on on mainline track. We did everything because the Lanier Law Firm has the means and the resources to pursue justice. We were able to hire the best experts in the field, the most knowledgeable experts in the field to gather the information, and one of those things we pursued every theory of law, we pursued every element of damages, including the element of the fear of impending death, and in order to do that, we persisted until we got the railroad to provide two locomotives and shut down the mainline tracks so that we could reenact or recreate the collision. So we had the timeline, we knew our experts were able to calculate almost to the second, the amount of time that our husband, father feared for his life or knew that he was going to die. So we had that timeline that we were able, we had the visuals to go with it to present to the jury, and of course, the railroad knew that we had that information and we pursued that case and we were able to recover one of the highest settlements that that railroad had paid in a death case.
