“Often the courts in California are very backed up and so for a wrongful death case, sometimes the courts will just continue your case over and over until they get to the point where they can no longer do that, and so that’ll delay a case.
One of the practical concerns is that sometimes cases need documentary evidence and often, you know it exists, but the custodian of those records is being dilatory or they’re not getting to your request for records, or you’re trying to depose a defendant’s corporate witness or custodian of records and get documents from them, and they’re just doing delay, delay, delay tactics.
And it just makes it difficult and you just have to do what you do and work with the court to get it expedited as fast as you can.”
