J.D. McMullen

J D McMullenJ.D. McMullen is an associate with The Lanier Law Firm, practicing in the areas of commercial and toxic tort litigation. He is a Certified Impartial Third Party and has mediated cases for the Harris County Better Business Bureau and Houston's family courts.

Mr. McMullen is a native of Longview, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree in American Studies from the University of Texas in 2001 and his law degree from the South Texas College of Law in 2005. While in law school, he was President of the Student Bar Association and an academic merit scholar.  He also served on the law school's Pro Bono and Access to Justice Board, and received the Dean's Citizenship Award. He also served as President and Founder of ADR Advocates and established "Triple Play," an annual charity softball tournament involving Houston area law firms and schools that benefited the Houston Area Women's Center.

Mr. McMullen studied International Criminal Law and Cross-Cultural Dispute Resolution and Negotiation Skills at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and Comparative Constitutional Rights and Alternative Dispute Resolution at University of Malta in Valleta, Malta.

He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, and Houston Young Lawyers Association.
